There was a good point brought up this evening over dinner at Carboncitos by one of our guests. How do we tell the season in Mexico considering that our vegetation does not change like the fall leaves up north, or snow falls? In Mexico we do not have seasons per se on land, but we do have seasons in the ocean. The seasons on land are determined by the heat and temperature, but the seasons underwater are far more impressive and exciting!
The conversation started when a guest asked, when is the best time to come to Mexico, maybe when it is not quite so hot. Obviously, it is a bit cooler...
Here is a very cool app for smart phones! Tango enables mobile phone user to have video calls and can be used over all smart phones. That is right an Iphone user can conduct a video call with an Android user over 3G! The calls are of good quality and you can see who you are talking to!! If you prefer Skype they have a Skype app and a SKype WIFI app! Too cool!
Tango lets you use two cameras to show yourself and your surroundings. It also works well on phones with only a rear camera, such as iPhone 3GS (yes people still use the 3GS), iPad or Android, briefly show somebody something around...

How odd, but if anyone knows how to deal with storms and Hurricanes, it is us, Residents and business owners in Playa del Carmen, Mexico where we have seen and been through a few storms ourselves. Maybe we should call this the Storm Sisterhood and Brotherhood as we all now know what a horrible...

We call Playa del Carmen food trucks, street vendors and it is a popular form of eating in the city and throughout the Riviera Maya. Don’t be afraid. The Riviera Maya has over 132 kms of beach that runs from Cancun to Tulum. Hotel Cielo is located in Playa del Carmen, the halfway point between these two cities and one block from the beach. Though we have a preference for our portion of the beach in Playa del Carmen, we appreciate other beaches in the area that offer a different vibe, different adventures and different opportunities. Some of our favorites are Puerto Morelos, Xpu-ha, Paamul, Akumal and of course, Tulum. We have provided a description of each beach, where it is located in relationship to Hotel Cielo and the specific activities...
